This has got to be one of my favourite outfits of recent times! I haven’t felt in my element as much as I did in this outfit as I felt that every aspect of it is completely Nün! The highlight of this outfit for me would have to be the fact that the whole outfit is black but there are so many different textures to look at. Not to mention, black on black is also a timeless look that is both sleek and edgy at the same time.

Style tip alert!: Give your monochromatic outfit a style booster by focusing on mixing fabrics and textures!

Hopping into a pair of super loud sneakers with my monochromatic outfit has also been my obsession as of late, so when I spotted this pair of Nike Air at the mall the other day, I couldn’t buy them fast enough.

Waking Dream

I don’t know if anyone else has been feeling tired and moody lately but I sure have been feeling that way. My guess would be that I’m over working myself and so every week I burn out extremely quickly, leading to my rotten mood half way through the week. If you were to see me on a daily basis, you would notice that I always start off my week dressed rather enthusiastically and as I hit mid week, I’m already living and working in my PJs. The trouble is, I find that the less effort I put into getting dressed and making myself look nice, the more sluggish and moody I feel. So lately I’ve been trying a new approach that especially on bad days or tough days that I’m not particularly looking forward to, I will try to put an outfit together that is bright yet still comfortable. This has worked like magic! It’s strange but your outfit really can dictate and lift your mood and sometimes wearing bright colours can make you feel lighter and happier.

So make sure you all get a good rest this weekend and try it this ‘bright outfit’ theory this coming week! Dress bright, feel light, and most importantly, all things in moderation so that whatever it is that you are doing can be prolonged rather than burning yourself out right at the start line.

I’m usually not a fan of writing specifically about a brand but this one is different. My friend, View, is a self made Thai fashion photographer who has had no background in fashion but has managed to get herself fully involved in the Thai fashion industry from her talents alone. She has shot for many acclaimed magazines and renowned Thai fashion brands and I have always been impressed with her work and how far she is come in such little amount of time.

About a year ago she has ventured deeper into the fashion industry by starting up her own brand, Viewzfinder Brand, in which she and her boyfriend design their own clothes, choose their own materials, and of course, shoot their own stuff. I’ve had a chance to do a blog post with her garment before in my very first post on nunstyleblog.com called Where The Wild Things Are which happens to be one of my favourite shoots of recent times.

I see a lot of similarities in View’s story and mine, right down to the fact that she owns her own clothing line with her boyfriend. It is extremely inspiring to come across such passionate people and to see them do so well because they remind you that hard work does pay off! Please don’t forget to pop by and check out her store, she ships worldwide and she sells on her instagram and her facebook brand page.

Crystal Skies

Lately I have been finding myself gravitating towards a more minimalistic styling and baggier silhouettes. I have never been very interested in minimalistic looks but ever since my discovery of House of Sunny I have seen the beauty in this style and have had fun experimenting with it. I truly feel that with fashion, it’s all about the freedom to experiment with different styles and assuming a different role for the day. The bravest thing for me to have done recently is to wear less platformed shoes! The reason being that I find I am comfortable with almost everything about myself except for the one aspect, my height. I am 162cm (5’4″) and I get so self conscious with my height that I refuse to go out without wearing platforms to elevate myself. But then I realised that there’s nothing wrong with being small! And It’s actually good practice for me (and everyone!) to really embrace every aspect of ourselves for what we perceive as ‘flaws’ in ourselves are not necessarily ‘flaws’ but just another part of who we are. So for all petite girls out there, let’s all embrace our height and try to have at least one ‘short day’ every week!
